Last year’s public speaking bootcamp was so successful, we’ve decided to run it again as our first event for 2020. Ali Parandeh PhD, MIAP, CC, CL., winner of the 2017 Toastmasters English Public Speaking Contest, is back to lead the one-day course, which will consist of a mixture of theory and practical exercises.
You will learn:
- The basics of speaking focusing on the clarity, tone and volume of your voice while avoiding filler words like ‘ums’ and ’ems’
- Best practices for body posture, facial expressions, hand gestures, walking or standing and eye contact
- How to put theory into practice with a fun debating session
- How to build and present a winning elevator pitch
The bootcamp will take place in the Atlas Suites on the Sunborn on 22 February 2020 from 9:00 – 17:00. Morning coffee and refreshments, as well as lunch, will be provided.
The event is free for those to attend. We ask for a £20 registration deposit to hold your place. This deposit will be fully refunded upon your completion of the bootcamp. Eventbrite has a small fee of £2.15 that we cannot refund.
Due to the practical nature of the event, we’re keeping the maximum number of participants to 25 to ensure everyone has adequate time to work through the exercises.
Update: The event has sold out, but the waiting list is open. If you’d still like to attend, sign up for the waiting list through Eventbrite and we will contact you should a space open up.
